I came into the ER due to a miscarriage. My heart was shattered, but the nurse I had, Pamela, was a ray of sunshine in this dark time. I was scared, full of fear, and so heartbroken, but she helped me every step of the way. As soon as I entered the room, she got moving right away, helping me get cleaned up and settled. When the doctor came in and did his thing, she held my hand, which was comforting to me, explained to me step by step what she was doing, and even went as far as wiping my tears. She took phenomenal care of me, she answered my questions in a way that I could understand, told me what to expect, and calmed my nerves. I'll never forget how she sympathized with me in sharing her own experience with miscarriage. That gave me even more comfort knowing that she knew what I was going through. During a miscarriage, often times the mom is focused on, and the dad is just there, but she even asked how he was doing too and helped ease his worry as well. Pam is one nurse I will never forget. She goes above and beyond in care and compassion for her patients. She was the calm I needed in the midst of the storm, the brightness I needed on one of the darkest days.
