My dad had a post-op overnight stay last week and was fortunate enough to have Paavo as his nurse. As a nurse myself, I could not have been more impressed with Paavo and the care he gave my dad. Paavo was clinically knowledgeable, efficient, and compassionate. Best of all, though, Paavo connected with our family as we worked through sending my dad to rehab, offering support, encouragement, and even some "tough love" to my dad as he resisted the idea. Paavo delivered excellent patient teaching about his catheter (met my dad at his level of understanding). Paavo also communicated well with the surgeon regarding some frustrating tasks/meds that were not ordered. We could not have been more impressed with Paavo! BCH is lucky to have him on their staff, and we were lucky to have him as our nurse.
