Olivia was my nurse during my labor and delivery, as well as during my discharge from the hospital. I was transferred to St. Joseph's Hospital after 30 hours of unmedicated labor at a local birthing center. I had planned to have an unmedicated vaginal birth, but ended up having to transfer to the hospital via ambulance due to failure to progress.

I had never even set foot in St. Joseph's Hospital before, and I felt comfortable and at home very quickly due to Olivia's care and compassion. She made the comfort of my family and me a priority. Throughout our entire visit, Olivia made sure that we were well-educated and able to have autonomy to make our own health care decisions. She always set aside time to discuss our various treatment options and gave us an overview of the evidence-based research to back up the various options.

Her care truly went above and beyond, and she actually volunteered to stay after her shift ended to assist with my c-section and recovery. I have travelled a lot in my lifetime and have experienced health care professionals all over the United States and throughout the state of New Hampshire, and Olivia's care at St. Joseph's Hospital was the best of the best I have ever experienced.

Before we transferred to St. Joseph's, we had heard they had one of the best maternity programs in New Hampshire. After our experience, I can confidently state that because of excellently skilled and compassionate nurses like Olivia, the care we received managed to exceed our expectations. Olivia deserves to be recognized for her excellence. Due to the circumstances, my experience at St. Joseph's could have easily been a traumatic event. Olivia made it possible for me to enjoy the process, focus on my beautiful baby, and ultimately have only positive memories of my experience.
