My mom was under Nurse Olivia’s care when she was admitted to the hospital. My mom is the kind of person who puts everyone before herself. She is very strong, and when she needed help, Nurse Olivia stepped up. She helped comfort my mom in a very overwhelming situation. From the moment I entered my mom’s room, Nurse Olivia was very welcoming and kind. She made sure everybody was taken care of. My mom and I are extremely close, and I was so worried about her when she entered the hospital. When my mom was under Nurse Olivia’s care, she helped relieve my stress about everything. 

I was concerned about my mom staying in the hospital overnight. Not about her care, I just hated the idea of her waking up alone. I went and asked Nurse Olivia if I could stay with my mom overnight, to support her. I had doubts about my request being granted, yet Nurse Olivia said she would ask her supervisor about it. I was so sure they were going to say no, but I wanted to at least try. I went down to get food, and when I came back up, Nurse Olivia told me I was allowed to stay. I was so surprised and grateful. Looking back now, I realized she could have just told me no up front, because it was an unusual thing to have happen. It showed that she really cared when she asked her supervisor. She helped prepare the room for my stay and made sure everything was set up and comfortable. 

I never got the chance to properly thank Nurse Olivia because her shift ended after that. I am so grateful for her and her kindness. The other nurses were so nice, but what she did for me and my mom never left my mind. I have always wanted to go into the medical field, but watching the way Nurse Olivia helped make my mom feel so safe and comforted only inspired me even more to pursue my dreams. Nurse Olivia is not only an amazing nurse, but she is also an inspiration. Thank you for everything.
