I could say so many things about the nurse who took care of me while I was in the ICU. From her very warm welcome, her care about my story of how I got there, her assistance with walking and using the restroom, and even cleaning me because I couldn’t shower. She told me fun stories to help me laugh and smile, and listened to me about my life. She made me feel cared for, and she cared about my health. She helped explain everything the doctors said, and told me what she was doing before she did it, and answered every question I had about what was going on. She got me a lot of water and apple juice, which is my favorite, and even got me ChapStick for my lips and helped me get a hair tie. She didn’t let me sit there and sulk at the fact that I was so ill. She made me see that this is a second chance at life to do what I want. She helped me do everything. I felt full peace of mind with my health because she treated me as if I were her own child and had a mother's touch.
