Norman immediately told me I just got a new son, and he cared and would take care of me while I was in his care.
Norman has a beautiful spirit and soul. He always asked me if I was okay, and when I explained that I was depressed about having cancer and CHF, he was so understanding. He gave me words of encouragement to lift me up. I was telling him how my family didn’t really acknowledge my illness because they claim it’s depressing to them. I expressed that they don’t visit me because they said it smells.
I don’t feel very loved by my family, and Norman immediately told me I just got a new son, and he cared and would take care of me while I was in his care. The way he spoke to me was so caring that it made my eyes water. The way he talked about his grandmother was so beautiful; he’s just an amazing nurse. He really knows how to treat patients. His bedside manner is great, and it’s obvious he loves his job.
I can’t think of anyone more deserving of this award. He is so wonderful, I hate to see his shift end, but when he comes back, my spirit is lifted, and I smile. Norman is special, and you have a valuable employee. I nominate Norman for the DAISY Award 100%. Don’t sleep on him; he’s one of a kind and special.
