I have worked as a nurse on The Birthing Center for a little over five years. If you had asked me five years ago if I would ever deliver my babies at the place where I work, I would have confidently said no. At the time, I couldn't wrap my brain around the idea of crossing that line of intimacy and vulnerability with my coworkers. I wasn't working here too long before I totally changed my tune about that, though. Now I can proudly say that I have delivered both of my babies here on The Birthing Center and even if I had a plethora of other options, I wouldn't dream of doing it anywhere else.

First of all, THANK YOU ALL! My birth journey has come to an end, but I have only the best memory of all of you and the care you provided. Each one of you has a unique personality that comforts and nurtures any birthing parent who comes through your doors.

To the awesome staff at the Noreen Stoner Drexel Birthing Center. Thank you for your service and dedication! Thank you for the exceptional care you gave us during our stay.

We would like to thank all of you from the bottom of our hearts. The love and care we were shown during our “vacation” to the birthing center took our breath away. I don’t think we ever imagined getting to meet so many of you, but in a way, it was truly amazing! We appreciate how you made every patient feel like they are the only ones there and that their baby is the easiest on the floor. We appreciate your professionalism and expertise in helping make the best decisions possible. We could not have done this without you!

We cannot express enough of our love and gratitude for the Birthing Center Team at Newport Hospital. This is our second child, and both have been born at Newport Hospital. Our first was an emergency C-Section and the team provided us not only a sense of love, but true caring and compassion. She was born at 4lbs 14oz. The team provided her and us incredible care and support throughout this traumatic experience, and we now have a 21-month-old toddler who is truly thriving. This past delivery was a planned C-section, and the team provided a calm atmosphere and routinely displayed a true sense of care and love for their patients. Every doctor came to follow up with how mom and baby were recovering and spent their time answering questions, and really displayed compassion and thoroughness. The nurses were above and beyond. They make the birthing unit what it is. They spend time to engage with patients, and their level of respect and care is unmatched in the care we have received for other general needs. They get to know their patients and offer the support all nurses should carry throughout their careers. It is with our utmost gratitude that we nominate the Birthing Center Team at Newport Hospital for the distinguished DAISY Award. Thank you for everything.
