It was such a relief knowing when I would go in every day to see my mother, morning, afternoon, and dinner time my mother was in the best of hands.
I am writing this letter to make you aware of two nurses, Kirsten Sites and Nora Rodgers, on A2 unit who always went above and beyond with my mother and myself. Each morning while visiting my mother I was greeted by either Kristen or Nora. They were always smiling, most professional, kind, and considerate. They answered every question I had, always ensured my mother was comfortable and had anything she wanted or needed. They also made sure that I too had things I wanted or needed. It was such a relief knowing when I would go in every day to see my mother, morning, afternoon, and dinner time my mother was in the best of hands and being well taken care of because Kirsten and Nora were working. I could not be there for lunch one day and when I got there Kirsten was feeding my mother. I thanked her so much. That meant so much to me knowing that she was there to take care of my mother.

The day she was being discharged on hospice she was to be transported by ambulance back to her home. We were given a time of 1230p. I arrived in the parking lot at noon and observed an ambulance parked. My first thoughts were, I was late, I ran to my mother’s room. When I arrived at her room, Nora asked what was wrong”? I informed her “I saw the ambulance downstairs and thought I was late.” She stated my mother was not ready to go yet. She also stated that she would “make sure that they did not leave without me”. Nora observed the ambulance driver and she introduced all of us. She informed the driver that “I would be following the ambulance and to please make sure I was behind them.” Then she joked and said, “No speeding away from her”. We all laughed. My mother passed away in her home. Kirsten and Nora show they both still have the passion for the job, enjoy their jobs, and would do anything possible to take care of their patients and their family members.
