She calmed my nerves and made me feel comfortable. She went above and beyond to ease my tears, hold my hand, and bend down to my level, so I couldn’t see what was going on.
I will never forget lying on the operating room table, terrified and shaking. Nisa stood next to me and said, ‘We won’t let anything happen to you! You’re going to be okay, I’m right here.’ I didn’t know her, but I remembered her eyes. A few years later I ran into her outside of the OR and instantly recognized her from her eyes. I thanked her for the extraordinary care and comfort she provided me with. Years later, I had to have an emergency at 36 weeks, and Nisa was right there again. This time, assisting in the birth of my daughter. She sat in front of me during my spinal and rubbed my forehead, telling me how amazing I was doing. Nisa helped bring my daughter into the world. In 2024, I had another c-section. This time it was planned, and of course, I wanted Nisa by my side again. I referred to her as my spinal coach. Again, she stood by my side and assisted the doctor in bringing my son into the world. This time it was truly the most beautiful experience, and I’m so thankful I’ve always had Nisa by my side. More recently, I had to have my gallbladder removed. I, of course, asked her if she was going to be there. Because why not? She’s not missed a single surgery I’ve had to have! Unfortunately, she didn’t make it to the OR, because I was put under anesthesia. But when I woke up, there was a sticker on my gown that said ‘Nisa was here xoxo.’ Otsego Memorial, the OR, and patients are so blessed to have Nisa. Not only is she an amazing provider, but she's also an all-around kind and compassionate human. I’m forever thankful for Nisa and the love she’s shown to me and my family.

Nisa was the first nurse I saw before being put under. She was absolutely amazing! She calmed my nerves and made me feel comfortable. She went above and beyond to ease my tears, hold my hand, and bend down to my level, so I couldn’t see what was going on. When the surgery was finished, I was planning on being discharged and going home. Right before I was discharged, Nisa showed up in my room to see how I was feeling and if I needed anything. She was my surgical nurse, not the nurse in my room. She did not need to follow up, but she did. I will forever tell my story of that day.
