As a new grad Nurse, fresh off of orientation, having 7 patients can be scary. When I worked with Niquonda Monday night I had seven patients and she had 8. She was so helpful. When one of my patients coded, she was alongside me doing chest compressions. She was calm and collected in the moment which was very helpful. I’m thankful she was with me. The very first day I trained with Niquonda I knew that she was the person I could strive to be like. She takes pride in what she does and is always doing the right thing no matter what. I admire her work ethic and her willingness to help others. I’ve watched her time and time again go above and beyond for both her patients and coworkers. She is the definition of a team player. I can honestly say the way I take care of my patients is how I learned from her. Seeing her name on the schedule gives me a sense of relief every time I come to work. I know when she is there everything will be ok. If I can be half the Nurse she is I know I can make a difference in the lives I touch.
