Nikole Clark, RN
I would like to nominate Nikki for a DAISY Award in recognition of the extraordinary compassion, kindness, and exceptional care she showed my dad and our entire family during one of the most difficult times of our lives.
From the moment Nikki joined my dad’s care team, she treated him with genuine dignity, respect, and kindness. She never saw him as just another patient—she saw him as a person, and she cared for him as if he were one of her own family members. Even during long, uncertain days, she remained patient, gentle, and reassuring.
As a family, we experienced fear, heartbreak, and countless unanswered questions. Nikki became a source of comfort through it all. She took the time to explain what was happening, answered our questions with honesty and compassion, and never made us feel like we were a burden. Her calm presence brought peace in overwhelming moments, and her kindness gave us strength when we needed it most.
One moment that will stay with me forever was when my dad was deeply sedated and on a ventilator. Nikki quietly sang to him as she cared for him. Even though he couldn’t respond, she treated him with such tenderness and compassion, believing he still deserved to hear a comforting voice. Watching her sing to him was one of the most beautiful acts of nursing I have ever witnessed. It reminded us that she wasn’t just caring for his medical needs—she was caring for his spirit and preserving his dignity during a time when he was completely vulnerable.
What stood out most was the genuine love and empathy she showed every single day. Whether she spoke softly to my dad, encouraged him through difficult moments, or simply checked in on our family to make sure we were okay, Nikki reminded us that compassionate nursing goes far beyond medical care. She cared for our hearts just as much as she cared for my dad’s health.
Nikki's skill and professionalism were exceptional, but her compassion made the greatest difference. She created hope, comfort, and trust during an incredibly challenging journey. The impact she had on our family is something we will never forget.
Nikki embodies everything the DAISY Award represents. She is an extraordinary nurse whose kindness, dedication, and unwavering compassion touched our lives forever. Her gentle voice, her comforting presence, and the love she poured into caring for my dad gave our family hope on some of our darkest days. We are deeply grateful for the care she gave my dad and for the comfort she brought to our family. She truly deserves recognition for the incredible nurse and person she is.
