Nikki inspires me every day with how great a nurse she is. Recently, we had a difficult patient who had a long stay with us, and many nurses and providers had issues with the patient being disrespectful towards them. Instead of letting that influence how she treated him, she approached him with compassion and got him to express some of the issues that were souring his demeanor. One of the issues was him being cold, so she brought him a sweatshirt on her next day at work so he could be more comfortable. This type of care, combined with her desire to make this unit the best it can be, makes her an extraordinary nurse.
