September 2026 Honoree
Niki Medina, ADN
Niki was my nurse in OB emergency when my water unexpectedly broke at 37 weeks. I was admitted to be induced. She then requested to have me as her patient the following night so I could see a familiar face, which meant so much during such an overwhelming time. I was in labor with prolonged ruptured membranes for 27 hours, and Niki did everything she could, going above and beyond to help me achieve a vaginal delivery. She held my hand through it all and always had my best interest at heart. When my labor could no longer progress and I made the decision to have a C-section, it was when her shift was ending—but she stayed with me until my baby was born. The next day, she even came back to check on me and meet my baby. I will never forget the way she cared for me on one of the scariest days of my life. Niki, thank you for truly going above and beyond for me and my baby.
Thank you, Niki, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
