Nicole has been involved with the College Council of Nursing Students since her preprogram courses. She has moved up in positions beginning with Term representative, to vice-president, and has been President for the last year. She is also the President of the Student Nurses Association, ASU Chapter, stepping into the role when the previous president stepped down.

Nicole has changed the focus of CCNS from community volunteers to community involvement. Community meaning Edson nursing students. Nicole has met with the Senior Director of Nursing Programs, Director of Student Advisors to develop a support system and a voice for nursing students. She has led other board members in updating CCNS bylaws.

Nicole's goal is for nursing students to be supported, to be heard, and to have a voice in changes. She has impressed me with her involvement, her energy, and her focus on peers, and all levels of students beginning at the freshman level. Nicole has role-modeled the care, and compassion, of nursing, to her peers, and future students, she has fought for their voice and needs. This is a quality you seek in a nurse, to be a voice for their patients.
