I truly believe that all the “thank yous” in the world could never express the depth of our gratitude for Nicole.
Nicole is a very caring and compassionate nurse who cared for my mother during some of her sickest moments over the last few years. Unfortunately, my mother has since passed away, but I know she would truly appreciate seeing Nicole Thompson recognized for the exceptional care she provided.
My mother had chronic wounds that would come and go, and Nicole was always there to help guide her treatment plan. Every time my mother was admitted to the hospital, she would ask for Nicole, wanting to know if she was working that day and when she would be in to see her. My mother was very particular and never hesitated to speak her mind, but Nicole always listened to her concerns and made sure to address them with the doctor.
Over time, they developed a special relationship through the many hospital stays she had. Nicole was down-to-earth and consistently expressed her concern and compassion. Even when my mother was stubborn or frustrated, Nicole always found a way to make her feel comfortable and safe while providing the care she needed. No matter how much my mother complained or argued, Nicole never wavered; she was always there to help.
I’ll never forget Nicole’s kindness during my mother’s final days before entering hospice care. She continued to check on her daily, and even though my mother didn’t always show her appreciation, I know she truly valued Nicole’s presence. Nicole also went out of her way to support our family during this difficult time. When I felt at my wits’ end trying to coordinate my mother’s care, Nicole helped organize family meetings with the doctors and took extra time to explain my mother’s wound status to my siblings, who were struggling to accept hospice.
Nicole was more than just a wound nurse; she became a part of our family. My mother trusted her completely and felt at ease in her care. I am deeply grateful for everything Nicole has done for my family and me over the years in caring for my mom. She is a wonderful, compassionate person.
