Nicole is a very kindhearted nurse. We recently had a resident who was actively passing away. This resident was agitated and nothing was calming her down. Nicole took the time out of her busy day to sit with the resident, hold her hand, and play soft music for her, trying to soothe her. All while she was the charge nurse that day and had many other duties she needed to be doing. The residents are Nicole's number one priority. She makes sure their needs are met even if it means she has to stay late after her shift is over to get her charting, etc., done. Nicole is an RN but there are many times she will be seen helping out the CNAs. Just because her title is RN, she is not afraid to do the CNA work to help out. She is always willing to lend a helping hand wherever it is needed. She will also pick up extra shifts so that the nursing staff is not short on the floor. There was another incident where we had a resident, and you could say Nicole was his favorite. He would always want her to take him to his room after meals and put him in his bed. This particular resident would also like hard candy and pizza. She was always buying this resident candy and occasionally a pizza, as she knew that he would eat that. Her heart is in her job. Nicole goes above and beyond her call of duty. She is not afraid to get her hands dirty and do what needs to be done. If ever you have a question she is always happy to answer it for you. The residents are the reason she comes to work.
