It is with deep appreciation and admiration that I nominate Nichole Taylor, RN, for the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses. Nichole consistently exemplifies the compassion, clinical excellence, and dedication that define this honor.
Throughout her time at Monument Health Rapid City Hospital, Nichole has become a cornerstone of nursing excellence. Working across Med/Surg, Telemetry, and Progressive Care Units, she brings an exceptional level of skill and confidence to every patient interaction. Her clinical knowledge is only matched by her empathy and unwavering commitment to patient-centered care.
Nichole’s experience extends beyond Monument Health. She has completed numerous travel nursing assignments with Uniti Med, including contracts in Maine, Kentucky, and Madison, Wisconsin. Her assignments have ranged from Level III trauma centers to major Level I Trauma and teaching hospitals, where she continually rises to the challenge with grace and professionalism. No matter the environment, Nichole quickly adapts, seeks out opportunities to learn, and provides the highest standard of care.
Nichole is known not only for her technical skill but also for her deeply compassionate nature. She consistently receives "WOW" cards and praise from leadership, patients, and fellow team members. Her ability to anticipate patient needs, communicate with clarity and empathy, and maintain a calm, reassuring presence—no matter the circumstance—makes her a standout nurse every single day.
In addition to her exemplary bedside care, Nichole is a selfless team player. She frequently assists her coworkers without hesitation and was recently selected to serve as a preceptor for all staff—a role she has embraced with enthusiasm and humility.
