Nick is always helpful. He always has a great attitude and is a hard worker. He deserves a DAISY Award for all of these reasons. Definitely an asset to the company.

I am nominating Nicky for the DAISY Award because of what I’ve witnessed as I visit with patients every Wednesday morning. I have had many patients share with me what a good nurse he is. About two months ago, I met a woman who told me that she is the hospital about once a quarter to have a procedure on her esophagus. We chatted for a bit and she just praised Nick and the exceptional care she received from him. When I see Nick on the 3rd floor, he is always at his computer or walking quickly to his destination. He is never just standing around.

Last week I saw an elderly woman. We chatted about the menu. As I was preparing to leave, she asked if I could get her nurse as the IV in her hand was hurting. I looked on the board and saw that Nick was her nurse. I didn’t immediately see him, so I walked to the end of the wing. I found him sitting quietly, looking at his phone. I asked if he was on his break. He said yes and asked if I needed anything. I told him about his patient and asked if he could check on her when he was done with his break. He said something like “I’ll check her right away”. And, he was off and walking down the corridor to her room. As I walked by, I saw him at her bedside attending to her IV. I’m only in the hospital on Wednesday mornings. I imagine Nick treats his patients with this same compassionate care and understanding – everyday!

Nicholas was very attentive and caring. I was so happy with his care, he made me understand everything that was going on and was on top of my pain. I want him recognized for his great work.
