Recently, we had a patient on the unit who had a scalp infestation despite being treated twice. After much discussion, the family was contacted about the possibility of shaving the patient’s hair. We believed there was no way to save her hair, but Nathan made sure that wasn’t the case. With the assistance of a Certified Nursing Assistant, Nathan stayed in the room in full PPE for two hours, working diligently to help the patient look and feel her best again—ultimately saving her hair. This made both the patient and her family very happy and was truly an act of compassion.
