July 2011 Honoree
nancy ramsey, RN, BSN, CRRC
In the nomination letter, a patient said the following about Nancy Ramsey’s nursing care:
After getting through the initial surgery, I came across a variety of caring and concerned nurses. But shortly before leaving I had a setback, a serious problem that was not being resolved. I had become depressed and uncomfortable about mentioning the intense pain I had. I felt there were no quick options but waiting. When Nancy came on duty, everything changed. She came right in to share her concern for my situation, recommended two options, made calls and helped me to have faith that there was a light at the end of the tunnel. She followed through with great care and her nursing skills and began the process which included a good sense of humor, down to timing my pain meds to be given before I left for the long drive home. Nancy went above and beyond for me. Thank God for her.
