I would like to commend my ER nurse, Nancy Bruns, for the exceptional care and compassion she showed during one of the most painful and overwhelming experiences I’ve ever had.
From the moment she walked into my room, she made me feel seen, heard, and cared for. I was in severe pain, and although medication helped take the edge off, I was still struggling. She didn’t dismiss my pain or rush through my care, and instead, she took the time to truly listen, reassess, and advocate for me.
What stood out the most was her compassion. Nancy treated me not just as a patient, but as a person. She spoke to me with kindness, reassurance, and patience, which made a huge difference in such a stressful and vulnerable moment. Her ability to balance clinical skill with genuine empathy is something truly special.
She made me feel safe, respected, and cared for when I needed it most. Because of her, my experience in the ER was not just about treatment. But about being supported and understood. She is the kind of nurse every patient hopes to have, and she absolutely deserves to be recognized for the incredible work she does.
