Nadine returned my call as the triage nurse on call yesterday, and suggested that I come into the clinic today, and she would dress my cancer-related skin wound. She asked that I come after 1:30, but did not give me a specific time. I arrived at 1:45 and waited less than five minutes to see her. She came into the treatment room with a bag of dressing options, as my wound is in the groin and difficult to bandage. She discussed options, then removed the old dressing (that had been taped on) very slowly and carefully, and caused me zero discomfort. She then cautiously cleaned the area and described in detail how she was going to do the re-dressing, without having to use tape! With some assistance from another nurse, Sam, she set about to apply the dressing with great care. After about 45 minutes, the work was done, and I was thrilled with the results.

She then asked me to give her a few minutes to write up a summary of what was done so that I could manage it on my own the next time. She came back with a full, well-written description, along with photo images, to help distinguish each dressing item clearly, and the order of applying each one. I was in the clinic for close to two hours, but it felt like mere minutes. I felt fabulous upon my departure, and it was very much because Nadine gave me her time so willingly and cared so much for my situation. She was pleasant, friendly, professional, and supremely competent. She treated me like I was the only person in the clinic that day, which is obviously not the case! Bravo, Nadine!!
