September 2026 Honoree
Nada Ali Abdullah Mlaybari, RN
There was a time in my life when I was battling depression. It was one of the darkest chapters I have ever lived through. I felt exhausted, lost, and completely alone. Every day felt heavier than the one before, and I couldn’t see a way out.
During that time, many people didn’t know what I was going through, and others simply didn’t know how to help. But Nada did. She was the one person who reached out her hand and never let go. She stayed by my side when I needed someone the most. She never judged me, never gave up on me, and never allowed me to face my struggles alone.
She didn’t just ask if I was okay—she showed up. She accompanied me to my therapy sessions, encouraged me when I wanted to give up, listened to me without ever making me feel like I was a burden, and reminded me that there was still hope, even when I couldn’t see it myself.
Little by little, because of her unwavering support, I began to heal. She believed in me when I couldn’t believe in myself. Today, I am healthier, stronger, and able to smile again, and she played an extraordinary role in that journey.
People often say that healthcare professionals heal patients. Nada taught me that healing can begin long before any treatment—it begins with compassion, kindness, and simply choosing not to leave someone’s side.
I truly believe I would not be the person I am today without her. To the world, she is an exceptional nurse. To me, she is the reason I found my way back to life. That is why, from the bottom of my heart, I believe she deserves the DAISY Award.
