March 2026 Honoree
Muriel Sparks, RN
After I completed my radiation treatment, a total of 15 rounds to treat my breast cancer, Nurse Maggie Sparks took the time to write me a personal message on her homemade stationery as a parting gift. I didn't open it till I got to my car, but it will be something I keep forever. The card was very professional but also extremely thoughtful and kind, especially after such a long, grueling journey.
Throughout our encounters, Maggie was very personable, funny, and eager to help. Her energy is nothing but warm and welcoming. In such a difficult time of my life, having those very real, genuine people who talk to you and meet you as a person instead of just a patient are the people who stay with you forever. I am very grateful to Maggie, and I think she deserves this DAISY Award because I know that it's not just me whom she treats that way. I'm positive that's just who she is as a person, and she deserves recognition for that. She really is what makes a great nurse. Anyone who encounters her is lucky.

Thank you, Muriel, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
