June 2025 Honoree
Morgan Nadeau, BSN, RN
Right from the start, I felt more comfortable when Morgan came into my room and introduced herself. She greeted me with a smile and asked if there was anything she could do for me and if I had any concerns. She went through doing all the processes she needed to do, giving me new IV's, taking my vitals, giving me medications, and talking with me. I felt she did all she could to make sure I was comfortable.
I did express a concern that I had with the previous night and wanted to be on a schedule to have my bladder emptied every 4 1/2 hours. I told her it's what I do at home, and she told me the protocol that they have at the hospital. Understanding my normal process and my concerns that my bladder doesn't get distended, she made sure that the schedule/protocol for me was kept to 4 1/2 hours.
She worked with other nurses and staff, sharing with them how I liked things set up in bed and making sure pillows were placed appropriately so I would not get any pressure sores. She also checked in periodically asking if I would like to be turned on my other side or to lie on my back.
Even though at times it seemed she was extremely busy, she always took a moment to stop in to make sure I was taken care of.
I was in the hospital for only four days; during that time, I felt I had the “Best of the Best” nurse caring for me. Morgan is someone who goes above and beyond in her job, always smiling.
