Molly Smith, RN

There are no words that could truly express how grateful I am for the care my nurse Molly gave me during the worst day of my life. When I delivered my daughter, Z, knowing I would have to say goodbye, my nurse never left my side. She was my strength when I felt like I had none. She cared for me with such compassion, patience, and kindness that I never once felt alone. She also cared for my baby with so much love and dignity. She made sure Z was treated with the same tenderness and respect that every baby deserves. She took precious photographs that my family will cherish forever, and because of her, I have memories that I will hold close to my heart for the rest of my life. She anticipated needs I didn't even know I had. She comforted me through my tears, answered every question with patience, and made sure I was physically and emotionally cared for throughout the entire experience. Even while my world was falling apart, she made me feel safe.

I will never forget the compassion Molly showed my daughter or the love she showed my family. She turned an unimaginable tragedy into a moment filled with dignity, grace, and genuine human kindness. People often say nurses are angels, but I truly experienced what that means because of her. Although I wish no family ever had to endure what mine did, I hope every family facing unimaginable loss has someone like her by their side.

Molly embodies everything the DAISY Award stands for. I will carry the memory of her kindness with me for the rest of my life, and I cannot think of anyone more deserving of this recognition.
