She didn’t just tell me what to do; she took the time to explain the pros and cons of the latest treatment options.
When I was first navigating the complexities of IBD, I felt completely overwhelmed; I honestly thought my world was over. One of the most significant things Molly did was ensure I felt heard. She validated my symptoms and my pain, reassuring me that what I was experiencing wasn’t just in my head. That validation was the first step in my healing process.

Molly’s attentiveness is unmatched. Living with a chronic condition means having a constant stream of questions and anxieties. No matter how small the inquiry, Molly always prioritized getting back to me with clear, helpful answers. Knowing I had a reliable line of communication took a massive weight off my shoulders. One of the most stressful periods of my care was the Two-Week Wait (2WW) for urgent results. This is a time of extreme vulnerability, but Molly went the extra mile to ensure she was there for me. Her presence and her willingness to offer constant reassurance kept me grounded when I felt like I was spiraling.

Most recently, as I started a new treatment, Molly’s focus on my well-being was evident in how she educated me. She didn’t just tell me what to do; she took the time to explain the pros and cons of the latest treatment options. By giving me the full picture, she empowered me to be an active participant in my own care. She recognizes the emotional toll of chronic illness, not just the physical symptoms. She follows through on her promises to provide answers and updates. She acts as a bridge between the patient and the complex medical system, ensuring I never feel like ‘just a number.’

Molly is the definition of what a specialist nurse should be: a compassionate expert who treats the person, not just the disease
