Molly was such an amazing nurse who was dedicated to the care and success of my son, T. During her time caring for T, she was inventive with ways to support his body to heal. Because T is too young to really cough for himself when asked, she suggested having him blow bubbles or blow through a straw to encourage coughing. This made such a difference! Not only did he love doing this, but we saw an increase in coughing, which also helped his oxygen maintenance. Molly also showed us the best way to pat on his back, sides, and chest to break up mucus and gave us ideas for sleep positioning to better support his breathing. Molly not only cared for T but also taught my husband and me ways that we ourselves could care for and support T (and our other children if they should experience anything like this). As a mother, Molly taking the time to explain things thoroughly and show me how to support our son through this meant so much to me. My confidence in myself felt increased, and I felt that Molly was caring for me in that moment as well. I'm not sure if she knew just how much it meant to me that she took time to make me feel equipped to continue supportive care for T. She was kind, gentle, and brilliant.
