During one of the most difficult times I have ever experienced, my father was in critical condition and required urgent gallbladder surgery. In that period, the nurse stood out as one of the few who did not treat his role as a daily routine, but as a true humanitarian mission.
His care was not limited to the inpatient ward. He accompanied my father throughout the ambulance transfer to another hospital for a biliary drainage procedure. He traveled with us in the ambulance, stayed by my father’s side during the entire hospital stay and procedure, and even after returning to the main hospital, he never left us or abandoned his role for a single moment.
He was attentive, present, reassuring, and constantly monitoring my father’s condition, while also comforting me and my family. It never felt like he was caring for just a patient, but rather for his own father. He meticulously adjusted the devices, offered warm and encouraging words, and treated us as if we were his family. His professionalism, calmness during crises, and unwavering compassion left a lasting impact on my heart that I will never forget.
For these reasons, I write this nomination with deep gratitude and full conviction that this nurse truly deserves the DAISY Award. He was not only a nurse, but an angel of mercy at a time when my family and I were in desperate need of compassion
