She was extremely compassionate and gave us the opportunity to laugh when we needed to and cry when we needed to.
Mirna.. where do I even begin? As I grieve the loss of my mother and amidst the overwhelming sadness and heartache I’m feeling, I am determined to gather the energy to write this. To say you were an exceptional nurse is truly an understatement. Mirna not only took care of my mom, but she also took care of all of us. She was more than just a nurse during the absolute worst moments of our lives. She laughed with us, she held us, she cried with us, and she poured so much of herself selflessly and passionately.
In just 2 consecutive shifts, she showed all of us what it means to be an incredible nurse. My family was blessed to have had you as OUR nurse, Mirna. If my mother was alert, she would have loved you. She would have thanked you endlessly. You would have been her favorite nurse– and she had been cared for by MANY of them. As a nurse myself, I understand what it’s like to have draining assignments. I know those shifts were difficult for you. I know you took that emotional load home after that first day, but you came back and did it all over again the next, with grace and love and the most sincere and beautiful attitude.
You deserve more than a DAISY Award, my friend. Thank you from the bottom of our broken hearts. We will never forget you. You have inspired me, and you will always have a special place in our hearts.

There are many situations; one thing that's hard when your loved one comes into the hospital after a traumatic incident is how hard it is to see them.
As soon as my mom started having energy, Mirna braided her hair. It took me a couple of days to realize what a huge impact that had on me, being able to engage with my very sick mom.
She was extremely compassionate and gave us the opportunity to laugh when we needed to and cry when we needed to. I was impressed that she kept all the machines going, continuously extended compassion to me and my family, and kept us informed in a way that eased our anxiety.
I could go on. You have a literal treasure in Mirna. Thank you!!
