His personality, professionalism, and work ethic are exceptional. And beyond that, he’s a nice human being. We feel so blessed to have had Mike caring for our mom.
1st Nomination
Wow! Having been an RN for 38 years (now retired), we were so impressed with Mike. Mike is a true professional in how he communicates with the patient and family members. We have had the pleasure of Mike being our mom’s nurse for three days. He is so patient and respectful with our mom post-stroke. He explains everything he is going to do before doing it.
Every morning, he updates the communication board, engages the patient and family regarding the events of the day, and asks for any questions and/or concerns. Write on the board the key items that will occur. Mike also makes the effort to be present when the physicians are rounding.
Besides doing everything for the patient, he has been so thoughtful to ask the family if we need anything. Throughout the day, he continually checks on the patient and family. His personality, professionalism, and work ethic are exceptional. And beyond that, he’s a nice human being. We feel so blessed to have had Mike caring for our mom. It was wonderful not to have any worries knowing Mike was here. His passion for caring is so evident - a shining star!
2nd Nomination
I’ve had some challenges, like a stroke event call and other problems with this stay. Mike has been my day nurse for a few days in a row. He is so caring and kind! The exemplary example of HumanKindness. I have the most complex migraines you can get. He’s on my meds, warm compresses, and anything he thinks can help relieve my pain. He’s the best nurse I’ve had in many stays at Mercy Gilbert. He’s so nice and an unbelievable nurse. Every nurse should be like Mike. He'll do whatever it takes to help you feel better.
3rd Nomination
Mike has cared for my mother as if she were his own grandmother. He was above and beyond excellent in checking in on her and making sure she was comfortable and had what she needed - including her meds, her coffee, meals, and getting into her chair. He never ceased to ask us as a family if we needed anything. He has a wonderful and caring personality. He is an excellent nurse, and he deserves the highest recognition.
