He often spoke about how funny she was and how he loved caring for her, and through everything, she asked for Miguel to be near.
Miguel was my grandma's nurse.

She had end-stage COPD and passed away in the hospital. Not only did she have trouble breathing, but she was also having other physical and mental/cognitive issues. She feared nurses and doctors were after her in her delusions; however, there was only one person that she trusted in the entire world: Miguel.

He often spoke about how funny she was and how he loved caring for her, and through everything, she asked for Miguel to be near.

Anytime we had an issue, Miguel was the first to address it. He thoroughly explained what every medication was for, what every diagnosis meant, and how we move forward.

He would introduce himself to all family members and all family that stepped in the room.

My grandma was very specific about how she wanted her pillows to be set up, and she always said that Miguel knew how to do it perfectly every time on the first try.

He was incredibly attentive, made my grandma and all of our family comfortable, and was extremely knowledgeable.

He also made sure to stop by about an hour before she passed when he was getting off his shift to offer his condolences and speak about his love for my grandma.

I couldn't imagine a better, more compassionate person.
