CPT Miguel Sison is a U.S. Army Nurse Corps Officer assigned as the Brigade Nurse for the 5th Security Forces Assistance Brigade (5SFAB). In his tenure in this position, CPT Sison ensured medical readiness and promoted health awareness among his fellow soldiers. Beyond providing care to his fellow soldiers, CPT Sison catalyzed the further development of the relationship with the Philippine Army, specifically with the Philippine Army Nursing Service. By nurturing this relationship between the U.S. Army and the Philippine Army, CPT Sison further promoted the interoperability of our medical personnel through the exchange of best practices. CPT Sison’s constant dialogue with the Philippine Army Nursing Service has facilitated the knowledge sharing of challenges and solutions that will ultimately benefit future patients. Thus, CPT Sison’s efforts as an Army Nurse Corps Officer have served to enhance the health and wellness of not only his fellow soldiers within 5SFAB but also that of the Philippine Army.
