I was here for five days in the Labor and Delivery/Postpartum unit. I delivered then had my tubes tied the following day. You have some pretty amazing women on your floor that should be recognized and appreciated for taking such good care of me.
Michelle was on point, kind, and helpful, to not only me but my family as well. She was loving and caring and really went above and beyond her job.
Michelle cared for me like I was her own. She even came to check on us after we transferred to the post-partum unit and taught my husband how to feed the baby while I was still in surgery.
Michelle had listened to my past delivery fears. After 3 days of a stubborn body and mild labor and after my water was broken, my labor went from ok to extreme. Michelle got anesthesia to my room in a matter of minutes. She remembered my story and fears and got me the epidural quickly and safely. They were ready for anything.
I went from 6 to 8 quickly and I needed to push in less than an hour. Part of my cervix was in the way and no one was there to catch the baby. Michelle coached me into holding in my contractions and not pushing with intense pressure and pain until her team rushed to the room for the delivery. Michelle never lost her cool; she was loving, informative and patient. It was amazing.
She is a rock star and her shadow (orientee) is following in her footsteps! Amazing women.
I worked for 5 ½ years in CVICU and Lawnwood and I can tell you these kinds of women are hard to find today. They are the glue to your team; they do what needs to be done. They don't buckle under pressure. They have their whole hearts in it because they love what they do. They are your most valuable employees- so please let them know they are valued!
