Being a NICU parent is brutal, but Michele was such a breath of fresh air.
Our baby was born at 28 weeks and 4 days gestation due to severe pre-eclampsia. The love and care Michele gave to not only myself and my husband, but to our daughter was literally out of this world. The first night we had Michele, I called the NICU floor after we left to let them know what an angel she is. I was brought to tears telling the charge nurse about our experience. Being a NICU parent is brutal, but Michele was such a breath of fresh air. She treated our daughter as if she were her own and did so much.

After we did our care times, Michelle would play soft noises until she fell asleep, send pictures and videos from the charge phone so I could start my day with a smile, and even let us dress our baby up for Halloween. Michele was also the first nurse who encouraged me to breastfeed. She was so patient with me and always listen to my concerns and assured me we'd find a middle ground, together.

While in NICU, our baby got diagnosed with retinopathy of prematurity or ROP, so we had trips back and forth to CHOA during the end of her stay. The night before her first procedure, we were getting ready to leave and we saw Michele. She asked if she could pray with us, over our baby girl and it truly made my heart swell. This world so badly needs more people like Michele. I hope this gives you a hint of what an absolute treasure you have in your NICU.
