Michelle went out of her way to get the necessary paperwork from our vet so our dog could come meet his brother.
Michelle was our nurse the day our sweet angel was born sleeping. From the moment she walked into the room, she ensured I was comfortable. Immediately detaching unnecessary monitors and wires, and changing my hospital gown and bedding. It wasn’t long into her shift that we started to push. Being our first baby, she took the time to explain everything and how labor would go. Nothing can emotionally prepare you for that moment your baby is born, and the realization that you’ll never hear him cry, but she warned us about some of those emotions, and she couldn’t have been more spot on. She never left our side for the rest of the day; honestly, I don't even know if or when she took a lunch break. She went out of her way to get the necessary paperwork from our vet so our dog could come meet his brother; she spent hours getting the most perfect hand and foot molds and prints that we will cherish forever. I know situations like ours aren’t what the nurses want to hear when they come on shift and hear that they drew the short straw that day, but we will truly never forget her, and I thank God every day that she was the one to get the short straw and walk us through the beginning of our heartbreaking journey.
