Michelle demonstrates compassion for all of her patients. There are a few specific situations that stand out to me. I know her level of caring means a great deal to individual patients. Michelle encourages patients to take showers or wash their hair. To some, this might seem trivial, but to the patients, it means the world. She is the one who takes on the task with the patients. This one patient could not get into the shower on her own, and bathing was an unfortunate luxury that the patient could not do at home either. Michelle had a plan and took action. She readied the shower room, mode of transportation (shower chair) readied, wonderful smelling shampoo and conditioner provided by Michelle. The patient basically had a spa treatment! We all know that being clean can help patients heal. Michelle often encourages her patients with humor and facts. She gets the task done. I am grateful to work with Michelle at Grace Cottage.
