Michelle is the core of the outpatient palliative care program. She is the hub that allows the greatest and smartest path of useful information between providers, staff, and veterans. She anticipates everyone's needs, beginning with evaluating the new consults. She is the first point of contact in the clinic and routinely advocates for the needs of our veterans and works tirelessly with the schedulers to optimize the best clinic scheduling to accommodate our veterans.

Michelle works diligently to anticipate both veteran and provider needs in the palliative care clinic and often assists with communication between veterans and providers. She possesses the ability to remain calm in all situations and is consistently able to put those around her at ease. This skill allows our veterans to know how special they are, setting the stage for our unique care.

Michelle is always looking for ways to improve veteran care and efficiency within the department. Veterans regularly comment that Michelle and, subsequently, our clinic are the most accessible and responsive by telephone at Bay Pines VA. She is an exceptional first-line resource for veterans and their families while they are enrolled with or considering hospice enrollment. Her commitment to finding the best solution for the veteran in the moment typifies the true spirit of the goal of what VA care wants to be!
