Michelle Batchelor, RN

During a rehab stay, a patient's wife unexpectedly fell ill and passed away. Michelle offered to come in on her day off to be here for the patient. She attended the funeral and emotionally supported the patient during the funeral and in the days after by checking in on the patient every day. She showed compassion and patience not only to the patient but also to his family. Michelle also provided care for the patient during her end-of-life transition. She helped the family understand the changes the patient was experiencing and provided a calm, loving, and compassionate aura. Michelle made sure the family had support and drinks/snacks, a low-stim environment, and that the patient stayed comfortable during his end of life. Michelle has a special touch for patients during their toughest times. Michelle has blossomed since she started here, and she is fully stepping into her role as a rehab nurse! Way to go, Michelle!
