Michael is the best nurse that I had when I was on the neuro floor of the West Wing floor 3. I always looked forward to him coming onto shift because he had a way to make me feel better everyday. He always found ways to bring my spirits up when they were down. This ranged from how I was improving to helping me see the positive outlook my future held even though I would not walk again. Michael beams with pride in his work and it shows with how he treated me. He has the best bedside manner I have ever received. I was glad to move to the rehab floor, but at the same time I was sad because I would no longer have Michael as a nurse.

When my wife is sick and hurting, she isn't a very nice person to be around or have to work with. Most of the nurses were having a hard time making her happy. The first day she had Michael as a nurse, her attitude changed dramatically, for the better. I think it's because he seems to always be in a very positive attitude that radiates off of him. It shows that he is passionate about his job and cares about the well being of his patients. He has some of the best bedside manners I have seen in a nurse. He would joke with my wife and when she was in pain he would show sincere concern. He even talked about the possibility of having a prior patient speak with my wife about what the future holds since they have similar injuries; my wife was in a car accident and is going to be paralyzed from the waist down. He said that talking with someone who has gone through what she is going through may help her work through it better and that lifted her spirits. Michael is the best nurse we have had here so far and my wife looks forward to him coming back onto shift. For these reasons I think that Michael T. on the Neuro Specialties Wing on Floor 3 in the West Hospital section deserves a DAISY Award.
