Michael Irvine, RN
Michael Irvine was my nurse while I stayed on 3 North. He jumped right into the hectic schedule and took over. I told him that I was a difficult patient, and he told me there was no such thing as "difficult." He answered every time I called for crackers or ice cream, never complaining or getting distressed. When my discharge was going through, he made sure everything was clear to me and that I had no questions for him. He even made sure that if I were to be getting out, the address would work, as I am homeless. Michael made an impact on me. He deserves this recognition and should be given the utmost respect for it.

My mother was in for Flu Type A. My mother's carbon dioxide was through the roof at morning shift change. Michael walked into the room and immediately noticed she was in distress. He notified the doctor, respiratory therapy, and all necessary personnel about her acute situation. She was put on a BiPAP and saved for life. Michael is currently still managing her care until his shift ends, on top of other patients. I noticed that as I walked past other patient doors, he was giving them the same attentive, compassionate, and professional attention as he gave my mother. I commend Michael Irvin for saving my mother's life and for his care and compassion that represent Cabrini. I also spoke with his supervisor. She came to the room personally and heard our story. This has been a life-changing experience. Angels do exist.

Words aren't enough. I've had lots of nurses in my time, but he has been the best. He's so friendly, compassionate, and kind. All the employees on this floor have been great, but he just stands out. I would love to do something for him, but I know he can't accept gifts. That friendly face and smile just made my day in a gloomy atmosphere, and his humorous manner just makes it more manageable. Please give him something that he well deserves!

Michael takes care of his patients with precision and genuine, gentle care. He is consistent in checking in on them. My niece also highly praised this nurse, Michael. My brother is in and requires a lot of care and patience. Michael consistently shows genuine care, a respectful demeanor, and diligence in his job as an RN. My brother, the patient, is pleased with him also.
