Melinda Meilinger, RN

Melinda made me feel as comfortable as I could ever want. I was admitted to the hospital for surgery through the ED for a problem I'd never had before. I was unsure, anxious, and alone in an environment I'd never been in. Melinda did her best every night to make sure I was as comfortable as I could be. She'd chat with me and explain what I could expect the same day while also asking me about my dog, what I'm reading, and just anything to make me feel at home. I especially loved how she would make the bed for me every night and tuck me in. She always showed me kindness and compassion. When I'd cry, she'd be right there to help me feel more at ease. Not knowing what to expect added to my anxieties, and knowing that Melinda would be working at night would help me get through the day. I always looked forward to seeing her in the evening to catch up. You can't teach the feeling someone like Melinda brings. By the end of my stay, I felt ready to go home but knew I'd miss her so much! Melinda, thank you for making me feel human and not like just another patient. You've left such an impact on me; I cannot thank you enough for making my first-ever overnight(s) stay more comfortable for me.
