Meghan has always been such an amazing partner to us throughout this journey—whether it’s been trying to get insurance to cover additional g-tube extensions so our son can receive feeds at school, getting the orders for those feeds together for school, doing absolute gymnastics to get him on Dupixent, navigating replacements during drug shortages, whatever. We’ve never felt a gap in communication or follow-through for a second as she’s always gone above and beyond. If she has been out, she’s ensured that another one of the wonderful GI nurses covered the task. I’ve definitely cried, and she’s been there, definitely made irreverent jokes, and she’s not judged, and she’s absolutely been there to celebrate even the smallest wins of a few ounces at a weight check. One of the things I appreciate most is that while doing her job advocating for L and being tenacious, caring, patient, and careful, she is also real. There’s an authenticity, so I know I’m always dealing with someone who understands on multiple levels. There’s no one single event or effort that contributes to this nomination, but countless ones that have provided years of wonderful, trustworthy care with a great partner we know we can count on.
