April 2026 Honoree
Meghan Kibbel, ADN, RN
Meghan Kibbel is one of a kind. She has so much compassion for all of her patients. A couple of examples are: we had a patient who was with us for a very long time; she was demanding and very confused. Meghan would take the time to make sure she was treated with kindness and respect. She had time for her no matter how creative she had to be to please this patient; for example, an easter basket from the easter bunny over our long, busy easter weekend! This patient was unable to comprehend what this award is, but if she did, Meghan would have been nominated by her!
Another example: as I sit here right now with Meghan, she is cutting out paper flowers, coloring them, and putting together a bouquet for her very sick patient. She is not only doing this for her sick patients but also making sure she is there for all her other patients as well. This bouquet may take her the whole shift to make, but it will be made and delivered to her patient. Patients are very lucky to have such an amazing nurse to take care of them, continue to be amazing and thank you for being a bright light in such a stressful career.
