My husband and I came to Southwestern Vermont Medical Center to deliver our first baby. While everyone on staff was wonderful, this nurse was AMAZING. She and I bonded through my labor, particularly when things were really starting to get tough. She was there by my side as I pushed. She had stated that she wanted me to have this baby while she was still on shift, and at 10:30 pm she had half an hour left. That's when I really started pushing. At 11:05, it was clear that the baby would be here VERY soon, and she stated, "Oh! I'm in it! I'm not leaving now!" Our sweet girl was born at 11:22 pm and my nurse stayed by my side until the end. She honestly made me feel like I had a good friend by my side, and for that, I am so grateful! She truly went above and beyond for our family. We got to see her on our discharge day before leaving, and I was just ecstatic to see her. She greeted me like we were old friends who hadn't seen each other in ages. She was able to help us complete all of our last steps before taking baby home. She was so efficient and caring again! Thank you! We love you!
