I want to nominate Megan Williamson for the DAISY Award to honor her exceptional compassion and unwavering support during one of the most devasting times in my life. Although this occurred nearly a year ago, her kindness and dedication remain deeply etched in my memory and heart, and I want her to know the lasting impact she made. Megan went above and beyond her role as an oncology nurse by staying in touch with my daughter for two years while she was away at college, supporting her as she navigated the challenges of cancer combined with an eating disorder. Through her thoughtful and caring messages, she became a source of encouragement and connection for my daughter, providing comfort and guidance even from afar.

This level of care demonstrates not only her commitment to her patients' physical health but also their emotional and mental well-being. When my daughter unexpectedly passed away while in the hospital, Megan showed an extraordinary depth of compassion. Upon hearing the news, she came to the hospital, even though she was working her shift, to be there for me during this unimaginable loss. Her presence, empathy, and steady support during that time made an indescribable difference. She listened without judgment, offered words of comfort, and stood by my side, making me feel less alone in my grief, especially as I was alone at the hospital. Even now, nearly a year later, I reflect on Megan's incredible acts of kindness and dedication - not only to my daughter but also to me nearly daily. Her actions went far beyond the duties of a nurse and touched our lives in ways I will never forget. For these reasons and many more, I wholeheartedly believe Megan deserves the DAISY Award. She exemplifies the very best of nursing - compassion, empathy, and a commitment to making a difference in the lives of her patients and their families.
