Every night for 3 nights, she managed to get down to the NICU and take video and pictures of my baby. Without her, I wouldn't have seen his first feed or his first outfit.
I delivered my baby via C-section at 34 weeks due to a premature rupture of membranes. It all happened quickly, and it was a huge shock. Literally, I had gone to the OB the day before, and everything was right as rain. After delivery, it was quickly realized that on the first night, I was ill in addition to the regular C-section recovery. I had the flu as well, which was devastating because this meant I couldn't see my baby in the NICU. Megan was my night nurse for 3 of my 4 nights in recovery on the mother-baby ward. Megan went absolutely above and beyond for me. Every night for 3 nights, she managed to get down to the NICU and take video and pictures of my baby. Without her, I wouldn't have seen his first feed or his first outfit. I was able to hear his little grunts and see him open his eyes. These photos and videos are my lifeline as I wait the days until I'm finally allowed to see my son in person. On top of this major blessing Megan gave me, she also gave me excellent and compassionate care. She knew exactly what to say, and her words never felt fake or flowery. She is just a genuine, kind soul. I can't express enough how grateful I am for her in those vulnerable days.
