Meagan is not the same; she is the upper echelon of nurses who holds herself to a higher standard.
Megan is extraordinary as a human being and a nurse. I can, without a second thought and with full confidence, say she was the best. Any expectation I had, she surpassed. It would be a cardinal sin of mine not to mention her; her care stood out amongst all that UNM SRMC has to offer.
She’s relatable, has a wonderful sense of humor, caring beyond belief, and thinks of any way she can to solve arising problems effectively. She didn’t rush out, listened to me, and was there when I needed it most. She saw me crying or in pain, and she did something about it every time, even when she was being suppressed by a provider. She knew what I needed despite the opposition; she spent 12 hours taking care of us as patients.
The provider, being on the night shift, doesn’t even see us for 12 minutes, let alone at all. Meagan definitely could tell without my words that I was past a 10/10. Not once did she say, “I’m sorry to hear that, I have nothing to offer you,” which is the usual response I get when having chronic illnesses. When I couldn’t get the medicine I needed, she gave me the support for my pain that I had never received.
She brought me all the options in case one didn’t work and assessed my needs with speed and efficiency. I was completely impressed; it was a pleasure to have her as my night shift and charge nurse. Meagan is not the same; she is the upper echelon of nurses who holds herself to a higher standard. I would love to be able to expect that every time I’m inpatient in the ER.
I loved my experience with her. She’s the reason I’m even halfway back to normal with my illnesses, I’m used to. I was blessed to have met her and experienced the care she offers to the world with not only open arms, but an open heart. I'm so grateful for her
