Megan is a true role model in the Emergency Department. She leads with fairness, consistency, and compassion, treating every team member with equal respect while holding everyone to the same high standards. Her leadership is free of bias or favoritism, and she approaches everyone with empathy, especially when they are facing personal or professional challenges. Megan’s approachable nature and unwavering support make her a trusted leader and mentor. Her consistency and willingness to help foster an environment of mutual respect and psychological safety, where staff feel valued and empowered.

While I had the privilege of working alongside Megan for many years at the bedside, I am even more honored to have her as my supervisor now. Megan precepted me years ago when I transitioned from a Med-Surg nurse to an ER nurse, and I would not be the ER nurse I am today if it were not for her. When I first heard about her aspiration to become a supervisor, I was ecstatic because I knew she would be an exceptional leader, and she has proven me right.

Megan has been a constant leader in our Emergency Department. She goes above and beyond to advocate for both patients and staff. She has positively impacted the work environment simply by being present. You will find her on the unit at all hours of the day, including night shift. She takes the time to round on staff and fosters open communication. When you speak with her, you always feel heard, and you know she will do her best to help address any needs or concerns.

What I appreciate most about Megan is how she makes me feel valued. She is always encouraging my professional growth and empowering me to be the best version of myself. Megan has truly been an amazing asset to our department, and she is worthy of this award. Thank you, Megan, for all that you do for us. It does not go unnoticed.

Megan’s unwavering support for the Emergency Department staff is truly inspiring. She leads with empathy, clarity, and a deep commitment to their growth and well-being. Her ability to uplift and empower the team not only strengthens patient care but also fosters a culture of trust and excellence.

Her commitment to arriving early and staying late ensures that staff across all shifts have the opportunity to connect with her, reinforcing a culture of support and inclusivity. From my adjacent office, I have a firsthand view of the meaningful impact she has on the team. Her open-door policy fosters frequent, spontaneous interactions, allowing staff to share both personal triumphs and challenges. This is a true indication of the deep trust and respect she cultivates.

The team shares stories of the birth of their children, the addition of new pets, educational aspirations, and the graduations that follow. The support she offers is genuine and sincere. As I continue to pursue my future leadership goals, I view her as a true mentor and feel deeply grateful to be surrounded by such exceptional leaders.
