Megan was my preceptor when I started working on 3North back in May. Megan is not only incredibly intelligent with impeccable clinical skills, but she has what I can only call a gift for teaching. Megan was hands-on with me the entirety of my orientation. I was always able to rely on her to be close by if I needed anything. She took the time to ensure I would truly be successful on my own.

Megan did not just ensure my clinical skills were exceptional. She walked me through particularly high emotional days, days when our shifts were extremely demanding. Days where patients were not the kindest, or where it felt like neither of us had anything left to give when we were done. She modeled to me how to fiercely advocate for our patients and for ourselves. All the while keeping her composure.

I walked away from my orientation feeling prepared to be successful, and I can only attribute this to Megan and her commitment to teaching me. I imagine she has had and will continue to have a huge impact on the nurses she precepts.
